Our April 27, 2019 talk was on Heartworm disease, which is a serious concern for dogs. Fortunately heartworm prevention is easy, which is good since treatment of this disease is challenging.
In this talk, we described the heartworm itself, its lifecycle, and how dogs become infected with it. Signs and symptoms of heartworm disease were also discussed, followed by methods of testing for heartworm infection. Ways to prevent infection were focused on, and the treatments for any infected dog was described. Congratulations to Trixi who won our door prize!
