Just as we are encouraged by our doctors to have our blood tested annually, our pets can benefit from the same preventative care. The earlier we find a problem, the more effectively we can manage it. Chronic kidney disease is a good example. It will show up on bloodwork before an animal is feeling sick and showing any symptoms, allowing us to manage the disease and keep the animal feeling well. Another major benefit is establishing a baseline that shows what a pet’s bloodwork looks like when they are healthy. A third benefit is the ability to track changes over time, and a concerning trend can catch disease earliest of all. A Complete Blood Count (CBC) looks at the number and properties of the white blood cells, red blood cells and platelets for signs of inflammation, infection and anemia. Our Comprehensive Chemistry panel looks at kidney values, liver values, blood sugar, and the basic electrolytes. Since blood work is such an important tool in monitoring your pet’s health, we strive to make it as accessible and stress-free as possible. Our in-house bloodwork has results available in as quickly as 30 minutes.
Between September 3rd and October 31st, our in-house CBC and Comprehensive Chemistry panels are being offered for $36.50 and $47.50, respectively, a savings of 50%. There will be no exam fee for existing clients. A $25 blood collection fee per pet will apply.
